DERRY BOROUGH (KDKA) — A lengthy standoff at a home in Westmoreland County came to an end overnight.

Police were called to the home on North Chestnut Street in Derry Borough around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials say they became concerned when they could not make contact with the woman inside.

Police were called there after the woman was reportedly threatening to harm herself.

The standoff ended peacefully just after 3 a.m. when police eventually entered the home.

The woman is being treated at the hospital.
