SLIPPERY ROCK (KDKA) — Students at Slippery Rock University say they’re concerned after an incident over the weekend.
Officials emailed students about an attempted assault that took place.
This — after the student body learned two other students were being charged with rape.
The alleged sexual assault happened in a house just off campus on September 29.
A young woman said two men attacked her. She named 22-year-old Braydon Micaletti and 21-year-old Bryan Chieze. Both are from New Castle and are students at Slippery Rock.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim said she was overpowered by Micaletti and Chieze. A witness reportedly screamed at Micaletti and Chieze, “What did you just do to her?”
When the victim went to hospital for treatment, a police officer said she displayed signs of exhaustion, fear, shaking along with injuries to her lip and neck.
Coupled with an alleged physical assault that took place at an off-campus apartment on Saturday, students say they’re a little scared and on guard.
“It’s definitely concerning,” Emily Cottage, a student, said. “I live where it happened so to hear that and to realize that could happen right where I live is a little bit intimidating.”
Students say they are thankful the university sent out a text and email alert about the latest incident.
