Pickup Truck Crashes Into Westmoreland Co. Courthouse

GREENSBURG (KDKA) – A man was arrested after crashing his pickup truck into the Westmoreland County Courthouse Sunday evening.

According to police, the accident happened around 10:20 p.m.

Witnesses said a truck flew past them, left the road, hit a cement potter and then crashed into the Westmoreland County Courthouse Annex.

The driver, 26-year-old Lucas Warren, managed to crawl away from the wreckage and flee the scene.

"The guy got out of his car, just goes running down the street," Mike Hensley said. "I hopped in my car, go and cut him off down at the end of the street. We held him until one of the Greensburg Police officers came and apprehended him. He had no idea he had done."

The crash left a gaping hole in the side of the building, which crews began to repair Monday morning. However, the repairs could take months if the elevator was damaged.

There is no estimate on how much damage was caused at this time.

Warren is facing charges of DUI and resisting arrest.
