Pitt's Hendricks Out For Season

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pitt defensive back Jason Hendricks has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

He will be replaced by Andrew Taglianetti, who is an experienced player on Pitt's defense and has played a lot of snaps so far this season. Brandon Ifill will fill in as well.

Also injured are quarterback Trey Anderson and tackle Lucas Nix. Anderson has already been ruled out for Wednesday with tendinitis in his wrist. Mark Myers is expected to step up to the No. 2 spot on the QB depth chart behind Tino Sunseri.

Nix is possible to return Wednesday night against UConn at Heinz Field. He has been out with a knee injury sustained on the first offensive snap of the game against South Florida Sept. 29.

If Nix can return, he'll join linebacker Todd Thomas as players coming back to the starting lineup from injury. Pitt head coach Todd Graham announced Monday that Thomas will start Wednesday against UConn.
