Suspected Pipe Bombs Found In Marshall-Shadeland

MARSHALL-SHADELAND (KDKA) – The bomb squad was called after potentially explosive devices were found in Pittsburgh's Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.

According to police, the devices were found on the porch of a vacant house in the 1200-block of Woodland Avenue around 1 p.m.

Two potentially explosive devices were found and one was partially detonated when the bomb squad arrived.

"We don't know what was in it," Detective Michael Burns, from the bomb squad, said. "The only thing that was benefiting us right now is that the one was partially detonated, but everything was not consumed in the device."

The devices were sent to the crime lab for analysis.

Both of the devices were taken from the scene for evaluation.

Streets in the area were being blocked off as the bomb squad worked to secure the scene.
