Mount Lebanon head coach Chris Haering thinks of his team as a work in progress. If winning every game, save for early non-conference losses to Hopewell and unbeaten Penn-Trafford, is “progress,” imagine what the finished product will look like.
Haering hopes his Blue Devils (4-0, 6-2) look like champions–Great Southern Conference champions, to be exact–by the time Friday’s Week 9 contest comes to a close. That’s the prize that awaits the winner of the regular season finale between Lebo and Upper St. Clair (4-0, 7-1) at Panther Stadium.
Here’s what he had to say about the game, and about how his defense must go about playing against USC’s star quarterback, future Pitt linebacker Dakota Conwell:
This Quad-A contest will be our “UPMC Centers for Rehab Services Game of the Week” on SportsRadio 93.7 The Fan. Lanny Frattare and Bob Orkwis will have the call at 7:30; pre-game coverage, hosted by the MSA Sports Network’s Don Rebel, begins at 6:00.
ROOT Sports will also have live coverage; you can watch a re-broadcast beginning Friday/Saturday at midnight.
