NHL Expected To Confirm Rumors That Draft Is Coming To Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- An official announcement is expected today to confirm rumors that the 2012 NHL Entry Draft will be held in Pittsburgh this summer.

A news conference has been scheduled for 3 p.m. at the CONSOL Energy Center.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman along with Penguins President David Morehouse, General Manager Ray Shero and Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl are expected to attend.

The last time Pittsburgh hosted the draft was in 1997.

Following the news conference, the Penguins and New York Islanders will face off at 7 p.m.
