PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Tips from the public helped police identify and capture a serial robber accused in three bank robberies in our area.

The suspect is 34-year-old Jason Betz.

Police say he’s the man in surveillance pictures.

U.S. marshals picked him up at a hotel in Monroeville.

Betz is accused of holding up Citizens Bank branches in McCandless and O’Hara Township.

Both were inside Giant Eagle stores.

He’s also accused in a robbery at a First Niagara in Bethel Park.
