'Designer Days' Return To Monroeville Convention Center

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) -- If you like good deals and good causes, you'll want to take a trip to Monroeville.

This weekend is Designer Days at the Monroeville Convention Center.

The event showcases 24,000 sq. ft. of men's and women's designer clothing and accessories at deeply discounted prices.

"One year I found like 10 pair of Ferragamo's – they were like $15 a piece, so you can't beat that," Joy Henry, of Irwin, said.

The National Council of Jewish Women has put the sale on for 41 years and proceeds always go to support various needs in the community.

"We have found that a lot of women have to stay in domestic violence situations or women coming out of foster care end up on the streets because they no longer have resources to manage their lives," Bonnie Rubin, of the NCJW, said.

"And so what we are trying to develop is kind of transitional services for women coming out of these kinds of programs," she added.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free.

"It's a great place to get some really high end things, support the cause and everyone's happy," David Armstrong, of Youngstown, said.
