4-1-Zoo: Marchez Coates Decommits
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Cornerback Marchez Coates has decommitted from Pitt and reportedly will commit to N.C. State instead, reports Pantherlair.com's Chris Peak.
Coates committed to Pitt in July, but since has seemed to gain more attention.
An interesting way to look at this decision is that Pitt has lost a commit to an in-conference foe. The Panthers will eventually be joining the ACC, so this is a move that could potentially have direct effects in the future.
This move doesn't leave Pitt dry at cornerback for its 2012 class, though. Head coach Todd Graham has received verbal commitments from three other cornerbacks: Marzett Geter, William Parks and Jevonte Pitts.
