MURRYSVILLE (KDKA) — Officials on the scene of a chemical incident in Murrysville say 14 people were taken to local hospitals for treatment this afternoon.

The incident happened at the Justifacts building located in the 5200-block of Logan’s Ferry Road. The Hazmat team and several emergency vehicles were called to the scene and the building was evacuated.

According to authorities at the scene, some people who work inside the building felt sick this morning after a cleaning company stripped and cleaned the floors in the lunchroom overnight.

Officials say Hazmat crews have now given the all clear after testing the air inside and airing out the building.

Authorities are trying to contact the cleaning company in order to find out what chemical or chemicals they used during the cleaning process.

Forbes Regional Hospital says held the patients for observation as a precaution until they got final word on the exact nature of the chemical. They were released from the hospital at about 3:30 p.m.
