Steelers Hope Fan Cam Enhances Heinz Field Experience

What kind of camera would you need to capture every fan at a Steelers game in the same picture? A really fancy one.

The 360 degree camera is called the Steelers Fan Cam.

"Once it's loaded up, then go onto Steelers.com and really start to dig in and really see what you can do with it," says Rick Giugliano, of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

From the south plaza of Heinz Field, it takes pictures of every fan in every seat at Heinz Field and turns it into one interactive panoramic photo.

The next day - from any computer - you can zoom in on yourself or focus on your friends thanks to webcasting solutions by INXPO. Then, pick your favorite picture, print it out and you can even tag yourself on Facebook.

"A lot of times, you'll get someone who comes possibly for one game - maybe from California or Texas. As you know from Steeler Nation, they travel well," said Giugliano. "So, it allows them to come in, capture the moment, sent it off to a friend and have that as a keepsake."

It also encourages fans to arrive early on game day, and the team's marketing department is taking full advantage - whether you were at the game or not.

"Maybe you live out of town and want to look for a family member who was at the game," Giugliano added. "You can go ahead and look for that family member, tag that family member and automatically be entered to win a $100 Steeler Sideline gift card and ultimately one of the fans during the course of the year will win a trip with us to see us play the Browns in Cleveland as well."

So, before you wave your Terrible Towel at the next game, make sure smile pretty and say cheese.
