Hearing On Future Of Station Square Nightclub Postponed

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A hearing has been postponed once again regarding the future of a Station Square nightclub where a man was shot last month during a party.

The hearing had been scheduled for this morning as the property owner, F.C. Freight House Operating LLC, wants Club Zen shut down for good.

Earlier this week, the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office met with the owners of Club Zen. District Attorney Stephen Zappala voiced concerns about the club's operations earlier this week.

It was also announced that the Station Square night spot would be closed this weekend as the investigation continues.

Shaka McGhie was shot three times while celebrating his birthday at the nightclub back on Oct 22. His parents told KDKA-TV they want the club designated a nuisance bar and shut down.

Today's hearing was postponed until Monday.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident overnight at Station Square, police and medics were called when a fight broke out behind a nightclub around 2 a.m.

Officials say one woman had to be treated for a cut to her head. At least one person was taken into custody.
