MAHONING TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — A car accident in Lawrence County left five people hurt early Sunday morning.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette,the accident happened on Sky Hill Road in Mahoning Township around 1 a.m.

The crash occurred when the driver lost control of his vehicle and then hit a tree, reports said.

A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene, but there is no word on the extent of injuries suffered at this time.
