Penn State Students Rally Outside Old Main

STATE COLLEGE (KDKA) -- Hundreds of students rallied outside of Old Main on Penn State's campus late Tuesday.

This came as a panel of the Board of Trustees held a conference call planning for a possible emergency meeting as early as Wednesday.

It was part rally and part meditation for the victims with a moment of silence.

"It's not about us," Sade Olasimbo, a senior, said. "We're surrounded by this whole scandal, we're surrounded by all of this, but it's like there are people who are affected by it and it's always unfortunate, but we have to – we have to also remember them."

As much as the students have been through this week, they wanted the world to know they at least stand for integrity.

"But we are Penn Staters," Matthew Zimmerman, a senior, said. "We have to ban together to support each other and show the world, show the nation that we stand for honor, we stand for integrity and we will not let the actions of a few people stop and tarnish what we as a university stand for."

The next regularly scheduled meeting for the Board of Trustees is Friday, November 11, but there is word they're trying to have an emergency meeting before that.

Whenever they do meet, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett will be present.
