Voters Head To Polls To Decide Key Races

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Voters will be heading to the polls today to determine several key races around the area.

The polls opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m.

However, because it is not a presidential election year, voter turnout is expected to be light.

This year, voter turnout is estimated to be at about 35 percent.

There are a number of key races and issues on the ballot that are up for a decision today, including the race for Allegheny County Executive.

In that race, Democrat Rich Fitzgerald and Republican D. Raja are looking to replace outgoing County Executive Dan Onorato.
