4-1-Zoo: Veteran Presence Returns With Robinson

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Nasir Robinson's biggest problem may be a bloody nose.

That should be relief for Pitt fans, as he returned Monday night for his fist game since having offseason knee surgery — the second straight year requiring a knee operation. He showed no lingering signs in the knee, aside from wearing a sleeve on his entire leg, but had his minutes limited because of a bloody nose that's been ailing him.

All in all, Robinson said his recovery has gone well.

"Last year (rehab) went good, this year it's going good, too," he said.

"I felt good (Monday night)," he added. "I've been doing my rehab and my training. I felt as though I've been working hard and my leg's been feeling good. I felt good out there."

Robinson said after the game that his knee didn't weigh on him out on the court and he doesn't expect it to. Robinson saw considerable contact for playing just 10 minutes, at one point having an opposing player from Kentucky Wesleyan fall directly on top of him on a rebound.

Still, he has no worries.

"I'm really not trying to worry about it, just go out there and play," Robinson said.

Barring any more bloody noses, coach Jamie Dixon said his veteran presence back at practice and in games will considerably help this team.

"His knowing (of) what we're trying to do is key because we're lacking in that area," Dixon said. "We're not where we need to be."

"I'm not 100 percent yet, but I'm close to it," Robinson said. "I should be there shortly."
