PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A man is in critical condition following a shooting in Observatory Hill.

The shooting happened at about 3 p.m. on Venture Street.

“From what we understand, he may have been shot in the upper portion of Venture Street and ran through some yards and ended up in the lower part of Venture Street,” Pittsburgh Police Commander Thomas Stangrecki said.

“He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.”

Police do not know if the shooting victim was a pedestrian or in a car.

One of the cars involved in the shooting lost one of its wheels and crashed on the lower part of Venture Street.

One man was taken into custody after a short foot chase. He allegedly had a gun, but did not fire at police.

Police believe a second suspect was involved.
