PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Add a little spice to your next Steelers tailgate gathering!

STEELERS HUDDLE “Heinz Red Zone Recipe”: PittsBurgher Quesadilla

Ingredients:
Olive oil
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
3 tomatoes, diced
1 cup Heinz® Hot & Spicy Ketchup
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
6 10-inch whole wheat tortillas
Olive oil for brushing tortillas
4 cups Monterey Jack cheese, grated
Salsa
Guacamole

Preparation:
1. In a skillet, heat a small amount of olive oil and brown ground beef. Add the onions and cook until translucent. Add the green pepper and tomatoes and cook for a few minutes. Add the Heinz Ketchup and salt and pepper to taste. Stir and simmer approximately 10 minutes.

2. Heat a large griddle over medium heat. Brush one side of each tortilla with olive oil. Place two tortillas on the griddle, oiled side down. Scatter one-sixth of the cheese on each. Cook until the bottoms are golden brown and the cheese is melted. Put about one-sixth of the beef mixture on half of each tortilla and fold into a half-moon. Continue to cook until the quesadillas are crisp, turning once.

3. Repeat to make six quesadillas. Cut into wedges and serve with salsa and guacamole.

Serves: 6
