STEELERS HUDDLE “Heinz Red Zone Recipe”: PittsBurgher Quesadilla

Olive oil
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
3 tomatoes, diced
1 cup Heinz® Hot & Spicy Ketchup
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
6 10-inch whole wheat tortillas
Olive oil for brushing tortillas
4 cups Monterey Jack cheese, grated

1. In a skillet, heat a small amount of olive oil and brown ground beef. Add the onions and cook until translucent. Add the green pepper and tomatoes and cook for a few minutes. Add the Heinz Ketchup and salt and pepper to taste. Stir and simmer approximately 10 minutes.

2. Heat a large griddle over medium heat. Brush one side of each tortilla with olive oil. Place two tortillas on the griddle, oiled side down. Scatter one-sixth of the cheese on each. Cook until the bottoms are golden brown and the cheese is melted. Put about one-sixth of the beef mixture on half of each tortilla and fold into a half-moon. Continue to cook until the quesadillas are crisp, turning once.

3. Repeat to make six quesadillas. Cut into wedges and serve with salsa and guacamole.

On tonight’s show Rania called this a Pittsburgh version of a cheeseburger and in the next breath said it was a Mexican cheeseburger. Which is it Rania?????
Truth is, neither!!!!!!! Anyone I know in Pittsburgh eats the same style cheeseburgers – a patty with cheese on a bun or a roll!!! And whatever else they want on it. Would everyone quit trying to make the US of America part of Mexico and vice versa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any Pittsburgher I know eats cheeseburgers the same way – a patty with cheese on a bun or roll and toppings of their choice! You called this a Pittsburgh version of a cheeseburger then in the next breath called it a mexican cheeseburger. Which is it Rania???? This is PITTSBURGH, PA, USA not Mexico!!!
