PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Lightning hit Marshall’s Shell Station and convenience store on New Year’s Day – lottery lightning.

One of the Million Dollar Raffle winners came out of the lottery machine there and don’t think Carol Spehar doesn’t use that as a selling point.

“We have the lucky tickets,” she said. “This is where they are – there should be another one coming this year.”

Once again when Million Dollar Raffle tickets go on sale Friday, they’ll offer the best odds at a million dollars of any of the lottery games.

Tickets are limited to increase the odds of winning, but that $20 price tag gives players pause.

“It’s kind of steep,” Ed Black, of Spring Garden, said. “I buy them once in a while myself – not often – but every once and a while I splurge on them.”
