Verizon Landline Phone Service Out In Baldwin-Whitehall

BALDWIN (KDKA) -- A landline phone service outage is affecting Verizon customers living in the Baldwin-Whitehall area.

Customers in that area are advised to use their cell phones to dial 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.

The problem occurred with a fiber optic cable, according to Allegheny County Emergency Services.

There's no word yet on when landline phone service will be restored.
