Michalek Practices With Team

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Penguins defenseman Zbynek Michalek practiced with teammates Thursday for the first time since suffering a broken hand Oct. 22.

Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma said it was a significant step in Michalek's recovery but there is still work to do before he gets back in the lineup.

"Zbynek Michalek was on the ice today, his first team practice in 23 or 24 days post-injury," Bylsma said. "He's not quite at the four-week mark yet on a 4-6 week injury. He's just on the ice with the team today.

"We talked today and the stress level on the hand and all he can be involved in with practice is still to be determined by what we see down the road when the doctor examines him."

Other Injury News:

  • Steve MacIntyre, who was recalled Wednesday from a four-game rehab stint with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, was in the lineup Thursday night at Tampa Bay. Richard Park was scratched.
