SLIPPERY ROCK TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – One person was killed in a Lawrence County accident Saturday night.

According to State Police, the accident happened on Shaffer Road in Slippery Rock Township around 7:55 p.m.

The driver failed to negotiate a right turn in the road and went off the road into the east berm. At that time, the car impacted a tree on the driver’s side.

Charles Ash, 58, of New Castle, was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Ash was pronounced dead at the scene.
