Local Marine Discusses Date With Mila Kunis

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A Marine from Grove City got a lot of attention when he boldly asked Hollywood star Mila Kunis to be his date to the Marine Corps Ball.

The invite, which he posted on YouTube, received more than four million hits.

The actress took notice, and they finally had that date and she was the belle of the ball.

It was a fairy tale evening for Sgt. Scott Moore.

Kunis watched the video soon after Sgt. Moore, posted it online back in July. He was stationed in Afghanistan at the time.

The "Friends With Benefits" and "That 70's Show" star agreed to go. On Friday, she made good on the promise.

"She was interested in everything that was going on, the ceremony, the cake cutting ceremony, the reason behind everything, the history, which there is a lot of history going on at a Marine Corps ball," Sgt. Moore said.

It was that eagerness to learn about the founding of the Marines that impressed Sgt. Moore the most.

"She had a lot of questions about my uniform and what to expect as far as the ceremony. And I explained to her that this year was extremely important to us and memorable to us because of the seven Marines and sailors that we lost during our deployment," Sgt. Moore said.

Sgt. Moore's parents, Russell and Diane, said they're proud of their son for taking a chance. However, they admit they probably would not have been as brave.

"I have no idea where he came from when it comes to things like this," Russell Moore said.

Sgt. Moore said the two shared a few dances during all of the traditional ceremonies that took place.

At the end of the night, they made a promise to keep in touch.
