Thousands Attend Annual Holiday Parade Downtown

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh is starting to get into the holiday spirit. Last week, thousands crowded the downtown streets for Light Up Night festivities.

On Saturday, throngs of people lined the streets to watch the 31st Annual Holiday Parade make its way through downtown Pittsburgh.

“Everybody’s happy ad festive and cheering and having fun,” Linda Rembold said.

Who wouldn’t be?

This is 31st edition of the big parade. This year’s lineup featured 80 units of dance teams marching bands and others who marched by to rave reviews

Ross Guidotti: What do you like best?

Tommy Switala: About everything. They’re doing a really good job.

Mother Nature also did a very good job as mild temperatures made for a perfect day for a parade.

Rembold: This weather is incredible.

Guidotti: You don’t want any snow?

Rembold: A little snow. You have to have some snow, but not a lot please.

However, what about gifts? Bugs Bunny had a bow on something special on his float, but you don’t get the loot without one guy doing his thing.

That guy is Santa and he wrapped up the whole show this afternoon in style.

Now, we all wait. Until then, here’s wishing you a happy holiday season.

it’s a shame that these “thousands” couldn’t make time to attend the veteran’s day parade. pathetic.

  2. Huh? says:

Kristy – you can’t compare the two. Veteran’s Day Parade was on a Friday, a day most people work & kids are in school. This happened on a Saturday, during a holiday weekend. Many people do not work on Saturday & kids are not in school.
