PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) – Yesterday, KDKA-AM’s Larry and John talked to Penn State researcher Dr. Carl Meyers about promising cancer research that could someday lead to a cure.

According to Dr. Meyers, the only problem is that he doesn’t have enough funding to speed up his research. This brought up the question- who funds cancer research and how do they decide who gets the money?

Lynne Ayers, a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society, joins Larry and John to address this issue and shed light on when and how they distribute funds for cancer research.
