Patient Critical After Torrance State Hospital Assault

DERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A patient is in critical condition after being assaulted by another patient at the Torrance State Hospital in Derry Township, Westmoreland County.

According to State Police, a 50-year-old man beat up a 42-year-old man in a hallway.

The victim was flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital for treatment. At this time, the hospital has not commented on the situation.

According to police, this marks the second violent incident at the facility recently.

A 19-year-old male patient was allegedly raped in an elevator earlier this month.
