Road Rage Leads To Gunfire In Saltlick Twp.

DONEGAL (KDKA) -- A road rage incident ended with gunfire.

It all began at a gas station along Route 711 in Donegal.

Kenneth Simmons, 29, was pulling out after getting some gas when he claims the victim nearly hit him.

Simmons passed the 18-year old victim, got out of his car and pointed a rifle at the teenager as he drove past.

He then got back in his car and began following him again and trying to run him off the road over numerous roads in Saltlick Township.

The chase continued for about 10 minutes. At one point, the victim says he hit a parked car causing significant damage to his BMW.

The victim who was travelling with a female friend tried to diffuse the situation by going home, but Simmons followed him and fired a shot into the ground at the end of the victim's driveway.

The victim's friend was able to get Simmons' license plate number and also see that he had two young children in his car.

Simmons is now charged with simple assault and reckless endangerment as well as a gun violation. He's in jail on $5,000 bond.
