Shoppers Flock to All-Clad Manufacturers Sale In Washington Co.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Take a look at the line. People, from as far as Wisconsin, waiting hours in the cold -- all to get their hands on discounted All-Clad cookware.

"It lasts forever, I have pieces that still look like they came out of the box, so I really enjoy it," Rita Melvin of North Fayette Township, said.

All of the pots and pans are made in Canonsburg. They're typically pretty pricey, but during this massive sale held twice a year the prices are slashed -- cut because of minor dents, dings, and scratches. Most not even obvious to the average customer.

"It's like a kid in a candy store. I've ben watching them come through the door and their eyes get about this big. They're just amazed at the product and they're even more amazed at just the great, great bargains," Bob Ballard, All-Clad Metalcrafters, said.

Check out this price tag, it gives you an idea of just how deep the discounts are. These pans normally sell for $195, but today and tomorrow they are just $59.99.

"Everyone is having a great time, and everybody is just zeroing in on what they want. It's fun to just go through everything and see what the deals are," Diana Gantous of Cleveland, said.

And besides the bargains here at the Washington County Fairgrounds, some people say the big event has become tradition and a way to support products made right here in Pennsylvania.

"This is probably my 12th year coming, we come twice a year, every six months. We come to the sale, my brother, anybody that will come with me," Melvin said.

"Well part of the appeal is just coming down with friends and having a good time to be honest with you. The other part of the appeal is it's a local to Pittsburgh area company, so its fun to be involved with that," Ellen Hitchins, of Sewickley, said.

The sale continues tomorrow, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m..
