Pirates Announce Updated Schedule For PiratesFest

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pittsburgh Pirates have released some new details ahead of their annual PiratesFest celebration set for later this month.

This year's PiratesFest is set for the weekend of Dec. 16-18 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

PiratesFest Hours:

  • Dec. 16 – Open only to season-ticket holders
  • Dec. 17 – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Dec. 18 – Noon to 5 p.m.

Tickets for the festival have already gone on sale. It's $12 for adults and $4 for children 14 and under. Tickets can be purchased at this link to the Pirates' website.

The Pirates say 15 players are scheduled to appear at the event. Some of those players include Andrew McCutchen, Neil Walker, Jose Tabata, Pedro Alvarez, Joel Hanrahan and many more.

There will also be several former Pirates on hand as well, including Kent Tekulve, Doug Drabek, and Andy Van Slyke.

Numerous activities are planned like the annual "Ask Pirates Management" question and answer session as well as baseball clinics with Pirates coaches.

Other games and contests are planned including the new competition "Oh Say Can You Sing?" in which fans will compete for a chance to sing the "Star Spangled Banner" at an upcoming home game.

There will also be a blood drive on Dec. 17 & 18 and a "Toys for Tots" toy collection.
