PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Police are investigating after a shooting claimed the life of a 21-year-old Homewood man late Wednesday night.

Pittsburgh police say Damaire Thomas, 21, was found inside of his apartment in the 7200-block of Kelly Street in Homewood with a gunshot wound to his chest.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say they believe Thomas had returned to the apartment building when he was shot outside just after 10:30 p.m.

According to police, Thomas was then able to make it inside the building where he collapsed.

Police say no have arrests have been made at this time.
