Report: Roethlisberger Suffered High Ankle Sprain

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Ben Roethlisberger added to his lore another gutsy performance, leading the Steelers to a 14-3 win over the Cleveland Browns despite injuring his ankle in the second quarter.

An X-ray showed that he did not break his ankle; however, the NFL Network is reporting that Roethlisberger suffered a high ankle sprain.

He underwent an MRI Friday and will be wearing a walking boot for at least a week. His status for the Dec. 19 game against the San Francisco 49ers is unclear at this point.

Roethlisberger was already playing with a broken thumb. His comeback was impressive to teammates.

“Anther gutsy performance,” James Farrior said. “The guy shows a lot of heart. He’s a winner, that’s all he’s been since he’s been [here]. We expect nothing different from him.”

Let Ben sit out against the Niners unless we is truly 100 percent. The Niners are very soft when they can’t run the ball and that won’t be happening against this defense. Batch will do fine if you run the ball first and think pass only after that.
