NORTH BRADDOCK (KDKA) — Firefighters rescued a woman who was trapped when flames engulfed her home in North Braddock this morning.
The fire started shortly after 7 a.m. at a home in the 1700-block of Grandview Avenue.
North Braddock Fire Chief Anthony Rydzak told KDKA-TV that when they got to the scene, they found “heavy fire in the front window.”
Fire crews say when the woman realized her home was on fire, she went to the roof and waited for help. “Lady was trapped on her back porch roof,” Chief Rydzak added. “We got her down, they took her to the hospital.”
At this point, there is not word on the woman’s condition or the cause of the fire.
