Report: NFL Considering Ban For Harrison

By: Chris Gates

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting Steelers linebacker James Harrison could receive both a fine and a suspension for a hit on Browns quarterback Colt McCoy Thursday night.

Schefter cites an unnamed NFL source, who says Harrison could be banned for as many as two games along with a suspension. No player has been suspended for player safety violations.

Harrison was fined $125,000 last season for illegal hits and his history suggests the NFL will rule strictly on the hit.

Two weeks would be appropriate along with a fine. He could spend the two weeks taking tackling instruction from Jack Ham and Jack Lambert.

  2. poop says:

McCoy had the ball at his side and was running towards the line. He will not be suspended for that hit and shouldn’t be fine because McCoy was out of the pocket and running with the ball at his side. Ref blow the call and I don’t teven think he should be fined. But goodell hates black people so he will be getting fined

When something doesn’t go your way, play the race card.

  6. Country roads says:

Both players are about the same height, so how do you stop your forward motion when you are two feet away? Both players were in motion toward each other and the quarter back didn’t even get a side line concussion check and went right back into the game. Roger Godell is micro managing, he’s got the ref’s so worried about injury hits, their missing calls that could change the out come of the game.
