Police Probe Bridgeville Man's Disappearance

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police are now taking over the investigation into the disappearance of a Bridgeville man who was last seen at a concert at Stage AE one week ago.

Jimmy Slack, 25, went to a concert on the North Shore last Tuesday night; but never made it home.

He last made a phone call at 1:43 a.m. early Wednesday morning; but that's the last time anyone heard from him.

Today Slack's family handed out flyers downtown Pittsburgh in hopes that someone might recognize him. "We're sure that somebody has to know what happened to him," Slack's uncle Mike Lowe added, "and we just want somebody to come forward."

The case has baffled Bridgeville police veterans who have been working around the clock to get a break in the case. "We've never had a case as bizarre as this one," Bridgeville Police Chief Chad King told KDKA-TV. "He basically just vanished."

Police have checked with hospitals, jails, and even the medical examiner; but so far, they haven't had any luck locating Slack. While tips have been coming in, nothing has been proved to have any substance as to what happened to him. Now they've decided to turn the investigation over to Pittsburgh police.

"The last place Mr. Slack was seen was in the city of Pittsburgh," Chief King explained. "The last place the cell phone that he has was used was in the city of Pittsburgh prior to it being shut off."

Lowe is urging anyone with information to call investigators. "If you think you may see him, or may have seen him, or may know what happened, just call."

Slack has blonde hair and blue eyes, stands 5'10" tall and weighs 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a Penguins baseball cap, a black-and-green hoodie and a tie-dyed t-shirt.

Anyone with information is urged to call Pittsburgh police's missing person's unit at 412-323-7141 or Bridgeville police at 412-279-6911.

A group of family and friends have collected a $1,000 reward for the person with information that helps find him.
