Atheist Leader Satisfied With Ellwood City Nativity Scene Outcome

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - With Council members voting 4-2 Tuesday to relocate the nativity display from the lawn of the Ellwood City municipal building to private land next year, Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), weighs in on the outcome with NewsRadio 1020 KDKA's Robert Mangino.

Gaylor tells Mangino that Council members made the right choice.  The group had argued that the city should erect a banner denouncing religion as a "myth" beside the nativity, or else face a lawsuit petitioning for the removal of the nativity scene.

Mangino asks Gaylor why she is satisfied even though the scene will not be removed until next year, and why she believes that even a display in a small Pennsylvania town threatens the separation of church and state in this country.
