Another Penn State Coaching Candidate Emerges

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman is reportedly on a "short list" of candidates to replace Joe Paterno as Penn State's next head football coach, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Roman's agent, Mike Harrison, confirmed with the Associated Press that he interviewed for the job in November and is still a candidate. He expects a decision in the next week on the position.

Penn State fired Paterno Nov. 9 after multiple sexual assault allegations surfaced regarding a former member of his coaching staff, Jerry Sandusky, and young boys.

A report came out over the weekend that PSU was set to hire Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien. That report has since been shot down by the university.
