Fitzgerald, O'Connor Sworn Into Office
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The new year begins a new term of office for two Pittsburgh officials.
On Tuesday, Rich Fitzgerald was sworn in as Allegheny County Executive.
Fitzgerald beat out D. Raja in November's election to win the seat being vacated by Dan Onorato.
The ceremony was held at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and a reception was held at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
Corey O'Connor was also sworn in Tuesday.
He now represents District Five on the Pittsburgh City Council, taking the seat which was vacated by Doug Shields.
O'Connor's family has been in politics for years, including his father, the late Bob O'Connor.
