Assessment Appeal Assistance Counseling

Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl says the city will be giving residents some extra help with the assessment process. City Council and the Controller's Office will be deploying staff members to a dozen senior centers as well as to the City-County Building next week. Volunteers will be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to allow for 30-minute, one-on-one sessions.

To make an appointment, residents need to follow a two-step process:

• Call the Mayor's 311 Response Line to schedule a 30-minute meeting at their local senior center
• Bring their photo I.D. and property assessment notice from the County to the scheduled meeting

The Mayor's Office say the 311 Response Line will be open extended hours, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in order to schedule residents.
