Local Priest Accused Of Viewing Child Porn Released

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A local priest, indicted by a federal grand jury on child pornography charges, was back in court Friday.

The Rev. Bartley Sorensen arrived in the courtroom for federal arraignment in cuffs and shackles but was released after the hearing.

He is subject to a number of conditions.

Sorensen has to post $50,000 unsecured bond. He is also subject to electronic monitoring.

He is not to use a computer and is not allowed contact with anyone under 18 without the supervision of an adult.

Sorensen is also restricted to traveling in western district of Pennsylvania.

Sorensen was arrested last month. He is accused of using his personal computer at the Saint John Fisher parish in Churchill to view at least 100 images of boys.

Investigators said there's no evidence that Sorensen ever had any inappropriate contact with minors.
