CONNELLSVILLE TWP. (KDKA) — The Fayette county coroner identified a girl killed in a two-vehicle crash in Connellsville Township.

The victim who died is 12-year-old Dawnielle Victor, of South Connellsville. She and her friend were riding in car driven by Dawnielle’s mother, Erica Victor

State police say the car was going southbound when the driver lost control on a snowy Breakneck Road, crossed into the opposite lane and was struck on the passenger side by a northbound pickup truck.

The coroner says it appears Dawnielle was not wearing a seatbelt.

A woman who lived nearby says road was snow-covered, but you could still see the lines on the highway.

She said it’s a dangerous stretch because of the curves. She said she has seen a number of accidents in the neighborhood.

The mother is listed in fair condition at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. The other passenger was not identified.

State police in Uniontown are investigating.
