Hearing For Beaver School Van Driver Postponed

BEAVER (KDKA) -- A school van driver in the Beaver Area School District was set to have a preliminary hearing at the court house Wednesday morning.

It was postponed until next Monday after additional charges were filed against him.

Earl Peacock, 54, is charged with sexually assaulting two little girls who attend College Square Elementary School.

He was arrested last week and fired by Ferguson Transportation after a 7-year-old girl said Peacock talked to her about what little boys would do to her.

Back in December, an 8-year-old girl claims Peacock sexually molested her. Both incidents reportedly happened on his school van.

Peacock passed state and federal background checks, prompting the school district and the bus company to rethink its background policy.

Peabody had worked for the company since 2010.

Superintendent Dr. John Hansen says Peacock only drove about 16 youngsters during that time and adds, "We have contacted all parents whose children have been in the van."

The district wants to make certain there are no other victims.

Peacock could not make bail and is in the Beaver County Jail.
