Minivan Hits Bar In North Union Township

NORTH UNION TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Charges are pending after a van hit a car before crashing into a bar in North Union Township.

Four people were injured.

This was not the sort of happy hour they were expecting at Paradise Bar on Bute Road Thursday night.

State police say Ryan Barie, 25, of Uniontown was making a left turn when his Audi was hit by a minivan driven by 34-year-old William Eggers, also of Uniontown.

The Chrysler Town and Country minivan then crashed into the bar, injuring two patrons who were waiting for food.

Eggers and the two bar patrons were taken by ambulance to Uniontown Hospital.

Barie was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W. Va.

State police say Eggers will be cited for driving with a suspended license. He also did not have insurance on his van.

Authorities say charges are also pending against Barie.
