WVU Beats Marshall, 78-62

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Kevin Jones scored 25 points to lead West Virginia to a 78-62 win against in-state rival Marshall Wednesday night.

Jones netted 18 points in the second half, blowing open a game that was tied, 30-30, at halftime.

Marshall went scoreless for nearly six minutes in the second half, allowing the Mountaineers (14-5, 4-2 Big East) to go on a 10-0 run and open up a 46-37 lead with 11:27 remaining. WVU went on a 12-2 run late in the game to take a 17-point lead, 64-47, with under four minutes remaining.

Truck Bryant added 22 points for the Mountaineers. Deniz Kilicli sat out of the game with an ankle injury, but West Virginia still managed to outrebound Marshall (13-5, 4-0 Conference USA), 37-27.
