MT. LEBANON (KDKA) – Police arrested a pizza shop employee accused of spying on children in the bathroom.

Andrew Dahmen, 22, was silent while leaving court. He is facing child porn, illegal use of cell phone, tampering with evidence and invasion of privacy charges.

Investigators say Dahmen worked at Mineo's Pizza. He allegedly followed a 5-year-old boy into the bathroom and used his cell phone camera to photograph the boy using the bathroom.

"Every device anymore has some sort of photographing equipment on it or at least recording-type instrument on it so anything that gives the appearance to be phone – you can pretty [much] be rest assured it has a camera component to it as well," Mt. Lebanon Police Lt. Andrew Lauth said.

Police say an attentive father prevented this situation from getting worse.

"I think it was the fact the suspect here – his view of the situation was that the juvenile had gone into the bathroom alone, kind of followed the juvenile into the bathroom and the father followed behind and basically caught the suspect in the act of taking the photograph," Lt. Lauth said.

Dahmen, who was immediately fired by Mineo's of Mt. Lebanon, could soon face more serious federal charges.

"There's a lot's potential for federal-type charges," Lt. Lauth said. "We have corresponded with the FBI and with the U.S. Attorney's office to see their interest in the investigation."

The manager of Mineo's Pizza in Mt. Lebanon says he fired the employee the moment the incident happened.

He said he's angry, has three kids of his own and calls the allegations scary.
