Police Investigate 2 Robberies In Shadyside

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police are searching for suspects following a pair of street robberies in Shadyside.

According to police, both happened between 11:15 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Investigators say the first incident happened in the 5800-block of Walnut Street near College Avenue.

Police say the victim reported that he was approached by two men with guns and had his wallet and cell phone stolen.

The suspects are described as African American males, between five-foot-nine and five-feet-11-inches tall with medium builds. They were wearing dark clothing.

The second incident happened just before 11:30 p.m. on Amberson Avenue and Pembroke Place, according to authorities.

Police say the victim was walking home after locking his keys in his car when he was approached from behind. His wallet and cell phone were also taken.

The suspect in that incident is described as a light-skinned African American male between 19- and 25-years-old with a thin mustache. He was wearing a black winter coat, black pants and a ski mask. Police say he also had a small weapon.

Police are investigating whether the incidents could be connected.
