JEANNETTE (KDKA) — Police are looking for three men who fired shots into a local home with four small children inside.

Police were called to a home on East Gaskill Avenue in Jeannette around 10:40 p.m. Sunday after an attempted break-in.

Dontae Williams told police he heard someone on the front porch. When he went to check it out, three armed men tried to force their way inside.

“There [were] three black males, all dressed in black, all with some type of covering over the bottom portion of their face and all three had handguns … that were visible,” Keith Rosky, with the Jeannette Police Department, said.

Williams slammed the door on the men causing them to flee, but an hour later they returned to the back of the house and opened fire, sending five shots into one kitchen window and a sixth shot into another.

One of the bullets grazed the right abdomen area of Williams’ 18-year old sister, Shatwana Williams. Four toddlers and another relative inside the home were not harmed.

“We have no idea at this point and, according to the victims, they have no idea who these people are or why they would be interested in harming them,” Rosky said.

Jeannette’s K-9, Wando, used a black hat and handkerchief found near the scene to track the suspects for several blocks, but eventually lost the scent.

“This could end up much worse, much worse, especially with the four toddlers in the residence,” Rosky said.
