4-1-Zoo: Paul Chryst Hires Final Assistant
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pitt head football coach Paul Chryst added the final piece to his coaching staff Tuesday, hiring Inoke Breckterfield as the Panthers defensive line coach.
Breckterfield was the defensive line coach at UCLA last season.
"Our defensive linemen are going to really benefit from Inoke's experience as a player and coach," Chryst said in a statement. "Inoke was an outstanding player at Oregon State who went on to play in the CFL. Personally and professionally, he is an outstanding addition to our staff."
Breckterfield was a two-time all Pac-10 defensive end at Oregon State in his playing days. He's the Beavers' career leader in tackles for loss (55.5) and sacks (19.5). He graduated from OSU in 1998.
Breckterfield began his coaching career as an assistant at Oregon State in 2006. His first full-time position was coaching the defensive line at Weber State in 2009.
