Uniontown Hit And Run Injures Child

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) – The investigation continues in Uniontown to find the truck driver involved in a hit and run accident, injuring a boy who was riding his bike in the street.

Tristin Greenawalt, 11, was riding bikes with his friend around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when a dark blue or black truck hit him, then fled the scene.

"I was turning my wheel to go out across the street, and as soon as I went out there, the car came and that's when it hit the front of my tire. It's like I spun, and my bike caught my leg, and it just kept driving," said Greenawalt.

Greenawalt limped to the sidewalk and his friend rushed over to help him. That was when a second truck came and hit the bike that was lying in the street.

Greenawalt was rushed to the hospital. His leg was badly bruised.

The second truck that hit the bicycle was white. Neither of the two trucks stopped to help.

"We are still looking for the operator of the vehicle, and if it's located appropriate charges will be filed," said Chief Jason Cox of the Uniontown Police Department.

If you have any information about the drivers of either of those trucks, you are encouraged to contact Uniontown police.
