Police Seek Suspects In Wilkins Twp. Armed Robbery

WILKINS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Investigators are searching for three suspects following an armed robbery overnight at a restaurant in Wilkins Township.

Police were called to the Buffalo Wild Wings on William Penn Highway just after closing time around 1:50 a.m.

"Three individuals came through the door, had ski masks on, gloves and dark-colored hoodies," said Chief Ed Krancic, of the Wilkins Township Police Department. "Each one had a silver, semi-automatic handgun."

There were only three employees inside. Investigators say the suspects are accused of cornering them in the rear of the restaurant.

"There was money taken at the time of the robbery," said Chief Krancic. "We don't know exactly how much at this point in time. They are trying to determine that. Two actors were described as 5-foot-8, 5-foot-10, 170 to 180 pounds. The third actor, about six-foot tall, 300 pounds."

Authorities say the suspects also had pepper spray.

"As they were leaving the robbery, two of the employees were maced by the actors," Chief Krancic added. "The actors fled the building, apparently went to the rear of the building up towards the housing development."

Police say they are gathering more information, including possible similar crimes in neighboring communities from other police agencies.
